Imagine a time a few years from now when religious and ethnic hate is rising; when a global marketplace is spreading global resentment; and when weapons of mass destruction are available to anyone. In such a troubled time, not too different from our own, a New Age movement, the Elysians, appears on the world stage with a mission to save the world from self-destruction.

Amy Vermeer, a high school graduate on her way to UC Berkeley, does not show up for
dinner, as expected.

When Amy’s brother Chris discovers she is with the Elysians, he becomes deeply concerned and rounds up nine friends to rescue her.

The Elysians believe their mission is too
important and urgent to let the fears of friends and family interfere. They are ready to defend their cause.
