1. How can I become an Elysian? Come to see a video about our community at the Marina Plaza Theatre in Sausalito on Monday or Thursday afternoons beginning at one. After the presentation, meet with our counselors and discuss whether our program is right for you. If it is, sail with the Iris to the cruise ship Aurora anchored by the Farralon Islands. Enjoy our hospitality as we travel to Monterrey Bay and back. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and explore the possibility of a more permanent relationship. 2. Can an Elysian leave at any time? Absolutely. Elysians are proud of their communities and feel privileged to live and work with other Elysians. All Elysians participate as volunteers. 3. Must Elysians live in community? Elysians live with each other when they can. However, some Elysians live and work away from an Elysian community and participate in community activities on weekends and vacations. 4. Are the Elysians a religion or affiliated with a political party or state? Elysians are not affiliated with any religion, political party or country. We are independent and adhere to the law of the sea. The Aurora is registered as a Greek vessel. Elysians who join the cruise community may become residents of the island of Crete. 5. Where does the name Elysia come from? In the religious traditions of the ancient Greek and Minoan civilizations, people blessed by the gods traveled to the Elysian Fields after death. For Elysians, Elysia is an ultimate destination. 6. Do you provide security? Elysians cooperate fully with the security forces of all countries and we honor the International rule of law. We have a department responsible for security and enforcement. It is staffed by experienced professionals with the most up to date facilities who are prepared for any conceivable contingency. 7. Are you familiar with the Web site www.friendsofchris.net? This site expresses concern about Amy Vermeer who is enjoying a cruise on the Aurora and sends her best wishes to her brother Chris and his friends. The friends are welcome to come to the Marina Plaza Theatre in Sausalito on Monday or Thursday afternoons to find out more about our program and be assured of Amys welfare. 8. Who is the Webmaster for this site? This site is developed and maintained for us by Scenorama Studios. See www.scenorama.com. |
