After her certification as a practical nurse, Florence worked in a San Francisco free clinic. It did not take long for her to become overwhelmed with the hopelessness of the homeless. There must be a better way to look after the mentally ill, alcoholics and addicts, she thought, a better way to set up our society for those less fortunate who need community support. Florence heard about Ariana and found her message appealing. She met with Tiffany, liked what she heard and now spends time with new recruits to welcome them to the community. Florence sometimes partners with Tiffany to meet with prospective members. One such occasion was the trip to Sausalito when she met Amy. She likes to talk with Amy about her mother and her own interests in nursing. Florence recently lost her father in a peacekeeping mission in the Middle East. Like Amy, she misses her father. Florence has not yet completed her own initiation into the Elysia community. She hopes to do so soon.
