Boris grew up in a Russian neighborhood in San Francisco and graduated from Stanford University in 1991 with a major in cultural anthropology. After college, Boris enlisted in the Navy and became a Navy S.E.A.L. He distinguished himself in various trouble spots around the world and was recruited by the CIA. He became an expert on harbor security and nuclear submarines. Because of his Russian familiarity, he moved around the new Russian republics after the breakup of the Soviet Union. He eventually left the CIA and joined with former KGB officers to become a security consultant. The tragic death of Pierre Pascal, Ariana’s late husband, marked a sea change for Boris. He sought out Ariana and joined with her to develop the Elysia communities.
