Berkeley Co-ed is Missing

Berkeley, California – Yesterday afternoon, Amy Vermeer, a recent graduate of Trinity High School in Holland, MI, was supposed to arrive at UC Berkeley to settle into her dorm and spend the week before registration to get acquainted with the San Francisco area.Her brother Chris, a senior at UC Berkeley, discovered her missing last night when she didn’t show up for dinner. He had invited nine of his friends to welcome her to the Bay area.Instead, the evening turned to anxious speculation as they tried to figure out what could have happened to her. After dinner, he turned on his computer and received a cryptic email message from his younger sister: “Sorry I can’t make dinner with you tonight, Chris. Something wonderful has unexpectedly come up. I’ll be in touch soon. Don’t worry about me.”Chris contacted the police but they just took down the information and did not seemed alarmed. Chris and his friends are very worried. “This is so unlike Amy” Chris said.
