RESOURCES Reconciliation Resources International Center for Transitional Justice When a cycle of violence is broken or a repressive regime toppled, a political transition unfolds and a society is often confronted with a difficult legacy of human rights abuse. A number of approaches are available singly or in concert to promote justice, peace, and reconciliation and achieve a more comprehensive and far-reaching sense of justice. South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission - TRC was established by the Government of National Unity to address the violence and human rights abuses that happened under apartheid. This site contains transcripts of hearings, legal background information, press releases and news articles, and other relevant information. Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation - This is a non-governmental organization dedicated to peaceful and fundamental change in South Africa and the surrounding region. The site includes information on the organizations, programs, and publications. |
